
ThinkTank, makers of premium camera bags and accessories, has revealed the new DarkLight camera backpack series.
The DarkLight series currently includes two feature-packed Black and Montane Green camera backpacks. There is no word on whether further bags will be added to the DarkLight series.
The ThinkTank brand has released countless camera bags, slings, and backpacks, including popular entries such as the street-savvy Retrospective series and the pro-grade Airport range.
ThinkTank DarkLight Backpacks
The ThinkTank DarkLight camera backpacks are available in two capacities – 14L and 20L.
While the size differences are noticeable, both sizes offer the same durability, performance, and impressive features and materials.
Speaking of which, the list of materials used to manufacture the DarkLight series is impressive. It includes Poly 600D PU Materials, NY 1680 Ballistics, Hypalon TPU, a Poly 200D PU Liner, 480g Airmesh, 200g Poly Nylex, YKK® RC zippers, 3-ply bonded nylon thread, and a PFC-free durable Water-Repellant (DWR) coating.

Each of the DarkLight backpacks offers essential features while delivering current-gen performance. Such features include:

The ThinkTank DarkLight 14L is a smaller, compact camera backpack with tactical-themed styling and robust build qualities.
While 14L doesn’t sound like a lot of capacity, the smaller DarkLight backpack holds a surprising amount of gear and offers many features.
ThinkTank claims the 14L can hold a standard-sized camera body with a lens attached, plus up to three standard zoom lenses. The brand also claims the DarkLight 14L can fit a 300mm f/2.8 or a 150-600mm f5-6.3 while attached to a body.
The DarkLight 14L measures 18.75 H x 9.5 W x 7.5” D (47.5 x 24.5 x 19cm) and weighs 2.7 lb (0.94kg), including the internal divider set, rain cover, and removable waist belt.
As for the ThinkTank DarkLight 20L, it’s a much larger camera backpack that offers the same suite of features, functions, and performance.
The ThinkTank DarkLight 20L is also available in Black or Montane Green and boasts the same tactical styling and flexibility as its smaller companion.
The 20L DarkLight backpack is reported to carry up to two camera bodies with lenses attached, plus two to three additional lenses. Alternatively, it can hold a larger camera body and three to five lenses.
The largest camera and lens body it fits is a 300mm f/2.8 or 150–600mm f/5–6.3.
ThinkTank’s new 20L backpacks measures 19.5 H x 12 W x 8.5” D (53 x 30.5 x 21.6cm) and weighs 3.4lb (1.54kg).
The ThinkTank DarkLight 14L camera backpack costs around US$170.00, and the larger ThinkTank DarkLight 20L costs around US$200.00.
